mona I have been trying to find any information thatanyone might have on Bone Necklace and hisfamily. So far all ihave is that he was one of thosewho helped Daniel Waneta and hisgroup that rescued the Lake shetek hostages in 1862/1863.

Mona, I just found this old request. Another one that I've missed. Is this the same Bone Necklace that was at one time north of Pierre in a camp when the Fool Soldiers went out to find the captives? If so then I have a little info. One of his son's was D.K. Howe, who was married for many years to Lorraine Isburg Flaw's great- grandmother Mary. He was the adoptive father of Mary Wickem, Lorraine's grandmother who was married to William Carpenter. If this is the one I'll see what I can find in my files. Let me know. Donna
